Great app..... Should be on Apple store so no JailBreak would be needed ... I know that in US AT&T would stop it .... but what for other countries ..... Apple can make some apps avaliable to some regions and for other not ?!? ..... I would gladly pay any sum for this app in AppleStore ....

Dope! I jailbroke my iPhone specifically so I could use it as a modem. PdaNet fits the bill. I use it with my Lenovo S10 flawlessly so far. Still trying to figure out how to secure the wireless connection but I only learned about jailbreaking about 24 hours ago. Thanks June Fabrics!

This is the single reason I jailbroke my iPhone 3G. And also the single reason I can only upgrade to new firmwares when they have been jailbroken, as Apple does not list this in the Appstore. Thank you, thank you, thank you, this saved my day already several times when working in an area without network connectivity, but w/ 3G.

Great job guys!!!! Really does beat the other apps and methods.... ive tryed so many and got it to work a few times with the socks proxy manually... but then trying out the other ones i got so lost with which steps to take.... (blah) this is what i would expect from apple.... simple and works.

Finally my $30 data plan worth paying for! That is $1 a day if I don't use my iPhone for Internet. Now that I can use it for my laptop I am no longer robbed!

I jailbroke my iPhone just to use pdanet. Even though that turns out to be an easy 5 minutes process, I had been cursing Apple for not allowing pdanet on App Store. But then I thought for a moment and I am actually happy about this. Do I really want everyone else to use pdanet? I mean EVERYONE will install pdanet without a second thought if it ever shows up in app store. That is like...10,20 million users overloading the same data service. So thanks Apple (no sarcasm)!

Great addition to the strong PdaNet family! Had problems finding the right tethering solution for iPhone that went beyond SOCKS friendly web browsing - to include Mac Mail and iTunes tethered connectivity. PdaNet for iPhone did the trick. Clean app, as always.

This takes the iPhone to a new level. The program is simple to set up using directions inside the program and you can be online in minutes. Thsnks to this program I don't have to buy a broadband network card. My macbookpro has never been more portable. I would expect that it will cost money soon. It is easily worth $100, but a marketable price would be $10-$15. Thanks to the developer.

This program ist awesome! I started with 3proxy and all the hazzle with Boss Prefs on my iPhone 3G, but it worked only for socks compatible stuff (no Terminal, no Eudora). Also no connection, when the iPhone went to sleep, really annoying... But PDANet works like a charm! Eudora, Terminal, no problem, runs even when the iPhone switches off the screen! The only little glitch is the warning/instruction after you set everything up: "Go To Wifi settings and connect to your ad-hoc network..." although you already did. Relax, and wait a few seconds, this message will vanish and the connection screen will come up...

PDANet is the ONLY usable tethering program for the iPhone. I have used all of the other solutions, including the short lived NetShare. All of the other solutions require complicated Proxy solutions that often make you fall back to other software such as FoxyProxy or Proxifier in order to make the solution work conveniently if at all. PDANet worked right away with all of my software, and is now my only choice for tethering. I can't wait for June Fabrics to provide some way for me to pay for it, so I can show my appreciation. ;-)

Was struggling with the proxy based products for tethering the iPhone and then came across PdaNet. This is friggin awesome! No more playing around with apps on the laptop. It is a native routed TCP/IP connection.

Just Perfect! It works properly, and very very easy! Before, using a manual proxy setup, I couldn't load all internet pages, even skype or client mail wasn't working. Now, with PadNet the whole computer is connect to the internet. It's marvelous! Usually I use PadNet at the same time I'm charging my iPhone, this extends a lot your connection time, for hours. Again, just perfect! Thank you guys!

This app does live up to its claims... full internet access without a proxy server. It's easy to set up, requires almost no configuration, and just works. Though, I experienced a few problems with it if I tried opening up too many connections... specifically, trying to bittorrent. But, hey, it works otherwise, and it's free right now. :)

This is by far the most usefull App on my Iphone, well. Apart from Cydia. I've used NetShare before this was available wich was OK, I had to mess about entering IP address and Proxy settings for this to work. As for PDANet I just Conect to my laptop and I'm away surfing the net and I'm not limited in what will and will not Conect through Socks Proxy. Thanks for this top App, if it was on the App Store for $34 Id pay for it no problem, bit as it happens it's free for the iPhone. Thanks again. Keep up the excellent work. Marc, Blackpool, England.

I recommend PdaNet for anyone that has an iPhone on T-Mobile. I am on T-Mobile with the T-Zones plan only and have had tremendous success with the application. Thank you PdaNet for making the Net available to us who don't want to pay for internet twice!

I can't praise you guys any more for your good work! This program gives you even more reason to jailbreak your iPhone! Keep em coming!

HOLY COW! This one app is worth jailbreaking for! I held off for a long time, and as soon as I saw PDANET I jumped on board. It has not let me down! Today, I went on SKYPE through my Iphones data plan and during my skype call with video I had my friend call me as well! Handled it flawlessly! It kept both connections up and running with out a beat skipped! FLAWLESS! How do I donate?

Freakin' amazing. I used to have PDANet on some of my Verizon PDA phones, but since I switched to AT&T and the iPhone, 3proxy worked, but was really limited. Now PDANet has me back online FULLY, and it's MUCH faster than the 3proxy solution. Plus, there is no configuration! How the heck they did it I don't know, but they are my heros! THANK YOU!!!

The pdanet took over the DHCP server on my corporate network even though I wasnt running it and had a wifi connection. Shouldnt it turn off the daemon when already connected to wifi router?

I was, really, looking forward for a solution like that. I tried 3proxy (dns, http, ftp, socks and port-mapping). I've got some kind of success: I could access some sites and use P2P with my client being reachable, due the port-mapping; I’ve even done my own ACLs. But some thing was strange: some times pages came by half; others, https got in trouble. I’ve tried NATD, but with no success. And now you came to us with this gift! Thanks.

I used to have a HP iPaq hw6955 that I hooked up with the blue tooth DUN to share the Edge connection. I must have spent at least 3 hours figuring that mess out. With PdaNet I had this running in five minutes!! This is the best iPhone networking application I have seen and the concept rocks using WiFi instead of blue tooth. I however did setup WEP security for added protection. WPA didn't work. Words can't explain my happiness right now.

Came from blackjack where InternetSharing was a default program and worked OK. Had just jailbroke (just for this program) and downloaded this Next day emergency business deal had to go out and I was mobile. Fired up the program and everything on my PC worked, even my IP phone. I tried the other (2) tethering options (Netshare+IModem) was was never able to get anything other than Safari to work. Very Impressive!!!!!!! 1.3.1 seems to be working great! I reported a problem with 1.30 that will hang the iphone during large file downloads. This version consumes less juice and is more stable. For the first time I could use this app to download a 100mb file with no problem. Thanks for such a great product! ... and to top this off it is still free of charge!

JonathanB says:
2008-10-01 07:53:52 on Vista
In version 1.31 the memory leak was fixed and it no longer crashes the iPhone, however the application will stop routing internet traffic after 30 minutes (give or take) regardless if I keep the application running foreground or in the background. The application itself will not crash, it will just stop routing the traffic. a phone reboot will be required as simply restarting PDANet wont help. While PDAnet stops routing traffic I can still ping from my laptop to my gateway (the iPhone) so that means the wifi connection never dies. Hope this helps.
